For eighty years, this tsukudani shop has been by the Yanagi-bashi Bridge, which was featured in a haiku by Shiki Masaoka. One bite of the famous tsukudani of sea eel is said to make you eat one full cup of rice. They have many items which reflects the seasonal flavors well. The Tokyo-style tsukudani is not so sweet and goes well with sake and wines. Many people buy it to have it as an appetizer when they drink. "After watching the Sumo game at Ryogoku, I went across the Ryogoku-bashi Bridge and was just walking around when I found this place. This town still has the legacy of geisha culture and the yakatabune makes this whole town look nostalgic and amazing. With the classic look of the packaging and the seasonal flavors, it is a cool choice for a souvenir."
