桜並木の下、アメリカの家庭の味を伝えるケーキ専門店
ペンシルバニアから中野へ、1984年に初来日。ケーキのケータリングを経て1992年に中野通り沿いに店を構えたカイル・セクストンさん。懐かしい母の味をベースに、レシピ本も読み込み、自ら考案したレシピも加えた40種前後のレパートリーから、毎日10種ほどのケーキを店頭に並べる。開店当時、日本ではまだ珍しかったキャロットケーキは今や看板商品に。にんじんの優しい甘みを生かしてしっとり焼き上げ、クリームチーズベースのアイシングで包み込む。アップルスパイスケーキはカイルさんオリジナル。アメリカでは定番のバナナブレッドやブラウニー、ベイクドチーズケーキにパイ各種など、素朴な顔をしたホームメイド・ケーキが提供される。近頃は息子のゼヴィアさんも店に立ち、接客やケーキ作りにも参加している。

From Pennsylvania to Nakano, the owner Kyle Sexton visited Japan for the first time in 1984. After working in cake catering business, he started his shop along Nakano-dori Avenue. He serves around ten kinds of cakes every day; chosen from around forty repertoires he has. His repertoires are based on his childhood memory of his mother's home cooking. But he also studied from recipe books and invented his own recipes. The carrot cake was uncommon in Japan when he started his business, but now it has become his signature cake. The cake is baked moist, emphasizing the subtle sweetness of carrots. The cream cheese frosting coats the cake. The apple spice cake is one of the Kyle's originals. The menu features authentic simple homemade cakes such as banana bread, brownies, baked cheesecake, and pies. Today, his son Xavier also work front of house and bake cakes with his father.
